Sorry if I am dense, but I want to sure that I understand the instructions
you gave to Chris.

My harddrive crashed and this is a virgin installation.

Refer to questions below.

Thank you for your patience.

Subject: RE: regenerating AS perl html docs

as well to make sure we are made aware of it. Stuff on the mailing
lists easily gets lost when everyone is too busy.

I'll try to write up a longer reply when I have a bit more time,
but here is a quick workaround to get the old style help back:

* Delete (or rename) the Perl/html/displayToc.js file

no problem .. I will rename it

* Run the following command:

 perl -MActivePerl::DocTools -e "ActivePerl::DocTools::WriteTOC()"

no problem .. I can do that

* Replace Perl/html/index.html with an older copy. I've attached one
 if you don't have one on your machine anymore.

I am assuming you mean the html that appears below.

* Reload docs in your browser

This is the part I do not understand!!!
How? from Where?? to Where??

If anyone else agrees with me let ur voice be heard.

I'm very much interested in feedback / suggestions regarding the
HTML help system in general, usage of vintage browsers, JavaScript
etc.  Please let me know!

Cheers,
-Jan
