Hello, I've written a small HTTP::Proxy based proxy. On Unix, HTTP::Proxy forks a child for each request. On Windows, the threading as fork emulation stuff happens.
I have noticed that when I use the proxy its performance is very slow (to the point of being unusable) if the command window running the script doesn't have the focus. Click the command window to make it active while a page is loading and the connections come through much faster. I thought perhaps this had to do with thread priorities, so as an experiment I used the Windows Task Manager to change the priority, but it didn't have an effect that I could see. Would be grateful for any input. FWIW, I RFTM, at least where I thought it was applicable, before posting. Thanks, Dan _______________________________________________ Perl-Win32-Users mailing list [email protected] To unsubscribe: http://listserv.ActiveState.com/mailman/mysubs
