? Hi guys I wrote a snmp poller app in perl 5.8.6(Build 811) on Win32. All was fine, however I needed to speed things up dramaticaly so I looked at doing parrallel polling using threads. Essentially I have a controlling process which feeds device names to a variable number of worker threads via a thread queue. They then poll the snmp device and return to checking the thread queue every 0.5 seconds. However the new version whilst working perfectly fine otherwise, crashes after a couple of hours with "panic: COND_INIT (1450)." I understand most of the implications of modules being/not being threadsafe and each of the threads create there own snmp connection - I dont share anything between the threads(although the module may be in the background I guess). I just wanted other people impressions on this - to my knowledge this should work fine - I have a set number of threads doing the work and I'm keeping everything as seperate as possible. I may just be unlucky and will have to look at using POE or other non-blocking methods of polling. I would post the code, but to behonest its huge and now fairly messy due to debugging. If anyone could give me a hint on what exactly may cause this panic I'd be gratefull.(I've googled to no avail...) Kind Regards Ross
