Hello, I am unable to get Win32::OLE::QuitMessageLoop working consistently: sometimes it causes a prior Win32::OLE::MessageLoop call to terminate, sometimes it does not.
More specifically, I wish to automate MSIE by simulating clicking on links (very much like the SAMIE tool, if you know it). After a click action, my script enters MessageLoop to wait until the DocumentComplete event is received. The event handler invokes QuitMessageLoop to make the main script proceed. Unfortunately, strange things are happening: 1. If I let the script run without moving the mouse around, everything works fine. 2. If I move mouse around in the browser window while the script is executing, it (often) hangs in the MessageLoop invocation. The mouse movements cause MSIE to fire lots of additional DownloadBegin and DownloadComplete events. This is as expected and I ignore these. The DownloadComplete event occurs as expected. I can see from debug output that I get past the QuitMessageLoop invocation in the event handler. I can also see that I do not get past the MessageLoop call, both from debugging output placed around the call and from the fact that the event handler is still being invoked repeatedly when I move around the mouse. Since the events are coming from MSIE as expected, I was wondering if it could be a timing bug somewhere in the Win32::OLE implementation. Can you think of any circumstances in which QuitMessageLoop could not cause MessageLoop to terminate? Also, could you suggest any further actions that would help me diagnose and remove the source of this problem? It is becoming a show-stopper... :-( Best regards - Jan Ploski _______________________________________________ Perl-Win32-Users mailing list [email protected] To unsubscribe: http://listserv.ActiveState.com/mailman/mysubs
