I've just committed some changes to Scintilla, the main ones being that events now fire for perl 5.8.x. This fix also solves a few issues where Scintilla was crashing, again with perl 5.8.x. This module should work with any version of Win32::GUI from V1.00 upwards.

I notice that the most recent PPM (and source for that matter) on the Sourceforge download page is still the one from November.

That's a Win32::GUI release. We've never released Win32::GUI::Scintilla, as until recently its original author (Laurent Rocher) was maintaining it.

The plan is to bring it into the core Win32::GUI distribution (I have been working on this over the last week), and an updated version should be available in Win32::GUI V1.04 (no promises on timescales, but hopefully soon)

Ordinarily, I'd download the CVS source and build it myself, but I don't own my own copy of Visual Studio.

Scintilla can be built from source using MinGW, if you are so inclined.

Although the
license at work does allow me to install it on my computer at home, I recently reinstalled Windows and I have to wait until I can borrow the CDs from work before I'll be able to build Perl or any extensions.

If you really can't wait, contact me off list, and I'll provide you a dev snapshot that you can use.

By the way, I want to thank everyone who's been improving this module. I was impressed enough when I first found it a few years ago (version 0.5 something, I think it was), but it just keeps getting better and better.

Thanks,
Rob.
