As I understand things (and I could be wrong) your suggestion wont make any
difference since the resources of the window arent released by the xs side
of things.

What about if you localize the creation of a window? For example, I
sometimes will use a sub that creates a window only when called and when
the
sub returns the window and any reference to it is undef?

Unfortunately undef does not release the resources that window uses. So, if
you need to dynamically create (and destroy) a window continually then at
some point you will run out of memory.
