Hello there i would like to use opensolaris as an openvpn server with a maximum number of clients of 2000 - 3000. Opensolaris is my choise over linux for its advanced network stack and the multithreading capabilities - although openvpn is not the ideal multithreaded application (but can run multiple instances in an advanced config). In the other hand there are not case studies for such an installation, i had the usual problems of getting the tun driver work under 64 bit (xeon) but thanks to this blog http://atechnicaljourney.blogspot.com/2008/10/howto-get-tuntap-compile-for-x64.html everything worked fine. After some searching i could not find anything that would emulate multiple connections but i did find a single connection stress testing using: --gremlin --reneg-sec 10.
Any suggestions on multiple connections stress testing would be appreciated.
