I wanted to make use of the external stats collection described in the assorted 
.func files. All the .prof files refer to function=generic, which doesn't 
collect any external stats. I tried to keep it simple and just collecting 
iostat and vmstat with the randomread2k.

Has anyone seen or solved the error msgs below. The "system exec failed" shows 
up periodically - I cannot find a pattern as to when. This causes filebench to 
wait for a signal that never arrives. I have to kill the task externally.
The kill_stats script error is from the 'kill -9 $pid' line, $pid is empty.
