We really try to focus on good "out of the box" performance, with our 
goal being no special tuning needed.

Having said that, there have been (and are) system tunables that exist 
that can help/hurt out of the box performance...depending on the system 
and workload. If you would like to take a look and experiment, these are 
generally documented in the "Solaris Tunable Parameters Reference 
Manual" (search docs.sun.com).
