That's definitely wrong. I've got a slower (360MHz) Ultra 60 and gvim started
up in about half a second.

I mean, it's never going to be quick (especially for gnome/firefox/java and
openoffice), but for normal tasks it should be fine.

I would wonder about things like name resolution - getting name lookups and dns
sub-optimal can lead to huge delays.
