I'm using a x4600 and I'm trying to write a tool that will report problems
about the hardware. It is basically just a wrapper for the "ipmitool sensor"
command.

Has anyone notice this command taking an unusally long time to run? I've
noticed on some machines (x4600's and x2200's) the readout from the ipmitool is
almost instant and on others it takes about 30 seconds to get the first sensor
reading then about 1 per second after that. The tool is using the bmc kernel
driver to get the information out of the ILOM.

The OS is 5.10 (x.86) Kernel ID Generic_118855-14 -- the Sun "06/2006" release
I believe. It happens with both the include "/usr/sfw/bin/ipmitool" and the
one available from ipmitool.sourceforge.net(vs 1.88)

Any thoughts?
