Hi, I have Ultra 10 workstation 440MHz USIIi with creator3d framebuffer. Some GTK applications seem to render quite slow. I run remote X sessions to a quad CPU E450 machine. When Xserver is running on Pentium3 - NetBSD, everything is rendered pretty fast. When Xserver is running on Ultra 10 - OpenSolaris Nevada build 28, there is a noticable performance degradation with some GTK applications.
I'm not entirely sure what might be the cause of the problem here: 1. GTK2 recently switched to libcairo, do Sun's Xservers support the necessary extensions for accelerated rendering? 2. Does it have anything to do with creator3d framebuffer? Maybe this card is too old and has poor hadware acceleration? Any ideas?
