David, The new observability tools should run as-is on Solaris 10 GA and you should be able to compile and run them on S10 as well.
The tools come with full source code under the CDDL license. They are not part of the official Solaris release yet - we would like feedback from the community before integration. The tools should help you in understanding what is going on and also provide a way to experiment with various theories.
