Mau share info saja. Sempat terlintas di pikiran saya, begitu banyak kapal DP
dengan mesin yang berbeda-beda, lalu apakah harus memiliki semua DP Maintenance
Certificate untuk masing-masing mesin agar dapat bekerja di kapal-kapal
tersebut? Apakah mungkin memiliki lebih dari 1 sertifikat DP Maintenance?
Berikut saya share jawaban dari L-3 DPCS ketika saya menanyakan hal tersebut,
mudah-mudahan ada manfaat bagi saudara pelaut sekalian.
* Pertaining to your query with regards to a student having multiple DP
Maintenance
Certificates from various DP makers. It is possible, some vessel owners do
send their crew to our training centre to train on our DP
Maintenance course. As explained before, the DP Maintenance Certificate is a
requirement that the vessel Charterer might have. There is no
straight forward rule saying that a student need a DP Maintenance Cert
from a particular maker. As the DP Maintenance Course is a specific
course for a specific system, and with all DP system being different in
terms of their hardware architecture. It is possible that a student can have
multiple DP Maintenance Certificates. To answer your question
whether it is essential and a requirement, this really depends on the
prospective vessel charterer to approve and not the training centre or
DP Maker. The student has to understand what is required of him and
what are the jobs that he intend to take up to make this informed
decision. If you ask me, if it is not a requirement to fulfil on a
particular long and high paying job, it would not make economic sense to pay
and have multiple Maintenance Courses from multiple DP makers.
Lalu untuk info schedule DP Course di L-3 DPCS tahun 2013, akan ada perubahan
schedule. Sampai saat ini schedule di L-3 DPCS adalah tergantung request, jadi
biasanya L-3 DPCS mengikuti jadwal permintaan dari kami, terkecuali bila memang
mereka mendapatkan request dari company lain, namun untuk di tahun 2013
direncanakan akan ada global schedule untuk 1 tahun, sama seperti di C-Mar,
jadi tidak tergantung request lagi. Schedule untuk tahun 2013 sedang disusun
karena keputusan tersebut cukup mendadak dan akan ada rencana kenaikkan biaya
untuk DP Course-nya, dari bocoran yang saya dapat, kurang lebih sekitar USD $
300-400. Demikian info terakhir yang saya dapat. Schedule dan cost untuk di
tahun 2013 akan saya infokan lagi begitu sudah ada update-nya.

* 24 Dec - Advance
