This pretty much sums up my thoughts, Mark.  I use it quite a bit
for macro work, informal portraiture, and a lot of general telephoto
shooting, to see ~approximately~ what the background might look like
at a particular aperture.  (I don't bother trying, though, if the
light isn't very bright...)
