The scanner comes with 3 holders,one for 35mm strips,on for mounted slides and one for MF negs. I dont know the spec but they are off the glass by about 2-3 mm at least. I read a reveiw recently were the person was having trouble scanning B&W,tried it laying directly on the glass and it was the best of the samples.
