You're basically going to shoot a backlight, and you want the moon completely black. You might as well want it completely black, since that's probably what you'll get. You also want to try to save some of the detail of the corona (that's why the moon will be black). I think you'll end up using a smaller aperture than f/4 to get the shutter speed to a usable range. That depends, of course, on the strong filter you'll need to avoid branding your retina or shutter curtain. TTYL, DougF KG4LMZ
