Hi Deb, Normally there isn't a halo around the moon however under certain atmospheric circumstances this strange looking feint circular rainbow occurs. The shot was a difficult balance of exposure since the rings were so dull compared to the brightness of the moon. The tree in the foreground was lit by a 500W flood light and the colour balance is daylight (5500K). The exposure information (EXIF information in the file) is as follows: Exposure time: 4/1 F-stop: 5.6 ISO speed: 80 Focal length: 36.0000 More information on this phenomenon can be found at: http://home.hiwaay.net/~krcool/Astro/moon/moonring/ Cheers, Rob Studdert HURSTVILLE AUSTRALIA Tel +61-2-9554-4110 UTC(GMT) +10 Hours [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://members.ozemail.com.au/~distudio/publications.html
