I have read that the Kodak is more neutral in terms of colouration which generally helps when printing on colour paper. I have had just as many problems with this as with the Olford though, and I prefer the Ilford for portraits, which is what I tend to use B&W for. The Kodak seems to have a higher contrast and more dramatic effect, whereas the Ilford is more 'creamy'. I absolutely love the Ilford.
You should bear in mind though, that many processors will automatically assume you want it printed sepia - hey why else would you use black and whitre, eh? Ideally you want it printed on true B&W paper, but failing that I would recommend giving the printer an example of the sort of colouration you want - and stress NOT SEPIA!!! > -----Original Message----- > From: Feroze Kistan [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] > Sent: 29 September 2002 22:44 > To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Subject: C41 B & W film > > > Has anyone used the Illford or Kodak B & W film that can be > processed by C41.
