Cameron,

Mr. Rubenstein was fairly correct in his assessment of the Pentax
situation. Canon is the gadget and marketing king and as such, will
release new stuff more often with more innovation than anybody else.
Nikon will release just enough to not get blown away by Canon. Minolta
and Pentax have already been blown away. The one area that Pentax has
any strength in that we might have interest is medium format. Even
there, recent developments are looking grim for Pentax unless they
start taking some chances. However, they have shown in the past long
while that they are not willing to take chances and compete. I would
say that if you are not happy with the current offerings, then the
time may have come to start looking to one of the others.

I, myself, am satisfied for the time being. Medium Format is
occupying my interests and development for now. A digital SLR is not
of interest until I can get a full frame sensor because I can't stand
to lose that much on the wide end. Based on prices, it will be a long
while before I pick up something. Who knows where Pentax will be
then? In the meantime, I have no needs or expectations that weren't
already being met by the current product line so I am fine. I do
understand how many of you may feel. I wish you luck in your search.
Sorry that this has been a dead end.
