No, that's the worst thing they could do in my mind. What reason would any of us have to feel bound to Pentax if we had to replace all our lenses anyway for a totally unproven lens lineup in a mount which could be abandoned if not successful?
Remember too, that smaller sensors with the same number of photosites need more light as they are less sensitive, plus the lpm issues others mention here.
