   Hi Frantisek,

   As I understand, parfocal zooms are designed for a specific
   magnification range. As soon as you get out of it, they loose more
   or less this quality.
   
   Still, there's an unexpected advantage in using zooms on tubes.
   They are more versatile than primes on tubes (macro lenses are
   excepted) when tripod mounted. By combining zoom and focus actions
   one usually gets more focus range and has to do less tripod
   adjustments.
