Rac> Has anyone noticed if the Tamron Adaptall K mount holds up better than the KA over time? That's been my experience and now I'm debating if I should just get another plain K mount. To me the Rac> Tamron KA mount doesn't appear to be as sturdy. The A setting seems to add to the complexity of the mount's construction; would this make problems more probable? With my older cameras and a Rac> ZX-M I can get by with manual exposure and aperture priority if I had to.
Hi Ray, I have had the same experience (not of the KA breaking, but simply, it wobbled more, causing sometimes the contacts for program to loose contact, freezing the camera body). I sold it quickly. The K is better. Also better built. It's not perfect, though :-( but I don't want to give up on the use of some Tamron SP optics. Rac> Both mounts sell for the same price and I hate to pass up on the KA because I'm making the wrong assumption. Here the plain K was about 2x cheaper.
