This Baobab Tree is situated about 1Km away on the far bank of the Olifants River gorge opposite the camp restaurant verandah. Perhaps a bit beyond the limit of my HD 55-300? Now, Baobabs are actually giant succulents often having hollow trunks. It is my contention this one was struck by lightning - many branches at the top are gone & the trunk is blown wide open. Must have been a hell of a bang.
