My daughter is just starting uni and "needs" some form of Apple computer to run
the software (Logic) she will be using. Needs at least OS13.5, apparently.
After wailing and gnashing my teeth for some time because of the utterly ridiculous pricing structure, I am having to work out a way to make this happen. So, bearing in mind that I am looking primarily at an Apple Mac mini MMFJ3B/A, some questions:
Will this cope? Fairly sure she will have to use some form of external drive for storage.
Specs say it's got a 256GB internal SSD.
External SSDs that work with the Mac Mini are fairly inexpensive. Much
more so than the Apple upgrade price for internal drives.
I would think about getting the memory upgrade because I don't think you
can add memory later.
Does Apple use normal video connections, such that I can attach a non-Apple
monitor?
Specs say it's got one HDMI output. You might need a "Thunderbolt 4 to
HDMI" adapter cable.
Will any bluetooth keyboard/mouse work - can I use a cabled one?
I have an older Mac Mini (Intel Mac) and it came with a Macally Keyboard
& Mouse (cabled, numeric keyboard, 2-button scroll mouse) and an AOC
monitor. The Macally keyboards have the Apple specific keys.

I think the Mac Mini is meant for people who want Apple, but don't want
to bust their budget, so it's designed to work with non-Apple displays,
mice, keyboards & external drives.
Many thanks in anticipation.
