Stan, I now have a surge protector / uninterruptible power supply for my 
computer, and a surge protector for our mini split AC/heating system (whose 
board also got toasted). Alas our electrician fell ill and went out of 
business, and we haven’t identified another one yet to put in a surge protector 
for the rest of the house.
