Thanks Larry and Paul. Larry, I used a pocket flashlight above the mushrooms. Part of the light on the edges is already shown on the raw pics which are in focus. Final sharpening amplifies this edge effect I guess. In focus stacking I introduced some ghosting effect (my enemy) that I have to remove in photoshop or affinity photo but it is a precise job. The surface in these woods is of course not at all solid so touching the camera on tripod to change focus may introduce movement. The remote control is useful though. The K-1 with its tilted screen is a fine camera for this work but the lack of built in focus stack is a great handicap.
