Yes, Larry, harassing the lizards & asses! The combination works well &, as you say, versatile & capable (light too). Several members of the local Pentax group use the 18-270 & some the older 18-250 screw drive too. I use my 55-300 HD on the K5 as a walk-around lens with great success. Never use a tripod.
