A very appealing image, Ralf. A lot of detail visible when zoomed in. Is a floating dock actually a dry dock?
A floating dock... well... it floats. It can be submerged partially to let the vessel drive in and then raised again to lift the vessel out of the water. A dry dock is a basin with a gate that can be pumped dry once the vessel is inside. Like a lock with a gate at one end only. Am I making sense? Ralf -- Ralf R.
