I'm sure it would be lighter. But that's hardly the point. The lens I seem to use most often is the 60-250, and much of the time I'm shooting at a focal length of 150mm or more. (Sometimes I even use it with the 1.4x teleconverter). The 40-150 is a close match to the 60-250 for AoV.
