Thanks, Mike
Before I took it somewhere I wanted a couple of opinions from voices I
trust - my tried and true repair place near me closed , where there were
still
guys that knew me going back a few years. So I'll take a "maybe" - . I
had the perfect watchmaker guy but his shop near me.is gone.. though I
may be able to find him.

The battery _might_ have just swollen but not leaked. Any camera repair places
who would attempt to take it out for you? Watchmaker? Musical instruments?
Anyone who works on delicate stuff, really. Definitely not anyone who works on
motor vehicles. 8 -)

a friend donated a Nikon coolpix P520 from 2013 to my ebay shelves..
barely used.. on examination there was a sd card with pics on it in

out.
I fear it haddent been touched since. which would be great if he had
taken out the battery before storing it. :-(
How bad is it? Possible battery hasn't leaked? Ugh.
I'd actually keep it for a backup and carrying around camera if it could
be fixed and not cost too much.. and sell my Canon SX120 instead. It
is light enough for me to carry for a while and has great features.
