I am looking at buying the smc Pentax-D FA 100mm f/2.8 WR macro
lens for my K-70. A local dealer recently did inventory, figured that the lens
has been in stock too long with no sign of moving, and is willing to sell it to
me for a very attractive price. What say you about that lens?
It's better than my A 100/2.8 Macro.
It's a really, really good lens.

I was going to say it's at least as good as my A 100/2.8 Macro with the
bonus of being auto-focus when I'm using it as a portrait lens.
It has all the optical goodness of the A lens with none of the rear element
reflections.

I don't know how the A 100 Macro relates optically to the FA 100 Macro, which I
have. The DFA 100 Macro is close optically to the FA, with some change to the
optical formula to eliminate rear reflections. Funny thing--throughout the
whole digital era I've use my FA 100 F2.8 Macro a lot, and have yet to see a
rear element reflection.
