Scott, you have to look at Tamrac.

I've always been a big fan of Tamrac and still are, but they have one
weak point: their cast metal shackles and the plastic locks attached to
the various straps.

I've saved my entire medium format gear by the skin of my teeth when one
of the metal shackles decided it had had enough. A second later the
whole gear would have disappeared forever in the depths of Canal Albert
near Liège.

As usual with light metal castings they break without any warning
whatsoever. I've had several of them fail over the years. Tamrac
replaced the defective parts no questions asked but the consequential
damage could have been far greater.

The plastic locks also tend to break. NEVER EVER lift a Tamrac bag at
the handle on top if you haven't closed the zippers but only the plastic
closures. Close the zippers or lift it at the shoulder strap.

Shouldn't be a prob with their backpacks but you all have been warned.
