Ninety percent of everything I would use it for is within 5 miles (8 Km) of my
house. The highest speed limit I would encounter is 45 mph (72.4 km/h) and the
traffic on those streets usually moves at an even lower speed.
I wouldn't need to take it out onto a limited access highway (aka motorway, aka
Interstate), and as I noted, for anything that did require me to go out of town
or to use the highway, I have a Jeep.

I mostly see them used by pensioners to transport their fishing gear. A
few municipal services employ them for transporting gardening supplies
in parks and cemetaries.
There's even an all-electric version.
I looked at that, but it's 4,000 Euro more than the diesel model.
The biggest drawback is I don't think you can buy one here in North Carolina (or
anywhere else in the U.S.)
