Thanks, Alan. A smaller aperture to extend DOF would call for a greater ISO which is set at an auto limit of 1250 which I consider comfortable. The snow impression is enough for me in this case. I, also, have a 3200 shutter setting when shooting wild "life" thus requiring help from the aperture to limit grain, rather then increasing the ISO.
