I've posted this note to a couple of the photo forums I participate in, in the
hopes of inspiring conversation. So why not to the photo mailing lists and
others who I share my occasional photos and rants with as well? For those
amongst you who make photographs—or any other kind of art—feel free to share
your thoughts. :-)

…
By mood I mean my desires in photographic endeavor.

- I pulled out the WATE (Tri-Elmar-M 16-18-21mm) wide angle lens and fitted it
to the Leica M-D along with the Universal Wide Angle Finder this past week for
the first time in a while. I spent two days carrying it and trying to see:
Nothing much happened.

- I fitted the Hektor 135mm f/4.5 and M-Rokkor 90mm telephoto lenses to the
Leica CL for the first time in an age and walked with it for a day. I saw a
dozen photos within a half hour.

- I loaded my original Polaroid SX-70 with a pack of B&W film. Two of the
exposures I made appealed to me.

- I loaded my MiNT SLR670a (upgraded version of the Polaroid SX-70) with a pack
of 600 Color film. So far, six of eight exposures are all singing to me.

Time to push further in the indicated directions—more reach and selectivity,
more color—and see where it draws me. The Muse needs to be addressed...

What are your current moments in thinking about your photography, your art, and
what you might do in the year to come?

Happy New Year to all of you! May it be a healthy and fulfilling one!
