Ritz purchased Camera World out here in Oregon. I recall when CW came into
being in the late 70's. It's prices were lower than other local competition
and eventually it killed off a long time photo store, Sandy's Camera. I was
a good customer of CW when it was owned locally. I stopped shopping there
when the owner sold to some investors. I think they screwed up by going to
the .com route and the bottom fell out in the recession. I don't think I'll
ever return to the Ritz Camera World (they kept the name). Portland has
some other good local outlets like Pro Photo Supply and Citizens Photo. If
I purchase on-line I do it via B&H or Adorama.
