Bruce, I agree that there may be some confusion about continuous and predictive focus. Predictive AF is not user selectible, it's automatically detected and selected by the camera when it continuous AF servo mode.
To further clarify the servo AF question I went to Boz's site and he states that predictive AF was added in SAFOX II so most of the ZX/MZ line should have the predictive AF feature, as well as the PZ/Z series. I checked the specs pages in the ZX5n and ZX10 users manuals and both show that predictive AF available. Not sure what 'available' meens, but it is listed this way in the specs. The SF series is SAFOX 'I' and they do not have it. The 645n does have predictive AF. My understanding is that the MZ/ZX series will do predictive focus after the shutter button is pressed. But the PZ-1p/MZ-S also have a mode where as long as the shutter button is halfway down, it will continue to focus on whatever you point it at. So if you are following some sports action, you can just hold the shutter halfway down as you are panning around. When the moment arrives, just press the rest of the way down. My ZX-10's cannot do this. I was under the impression that the whole ZX/MZ line (excepting the MZ-S) are the same way.
