It's mating season and the toms are particularly stupid because of it. A few years ago a big tom decided to challenge my car when I was driving to work, I lived on a small side road and his wingspan seemed to cover most of it's entire width. I could probably have just pushed him out of the way, but really all he wanted was to get a little action and who could fault him for that.
