I've been doing some macros lately using continuous lighting and am

for macros some of the benefits of a full frame sensor are offset by the
need to achieve higher overall magnification so I considered the K-3ii
or the K-p which also offer pixel shift. But I think that the extra
megapixels and improved IQ from a full frame sensor will make it worth
while.

I also see the K-1 replacing my 6x7 for landscape work. While a have no
reservations about using the K-3 for landscapes I still prefer the
results from a 6x7 negative. From what I read the K-1 is a marvelous
landscape tool and I hope to put it to good use in that context as well.

I've been doing a lot of focus stacked macros with pixel shift. The level of detail goes up quite a bit, and blown out reds seem to be a thing of the past as well. The only downside is that a couple of dozen K1 pixel shift files stacked up in Photoshop take all 32 GB of memory and then some, so unless you have a smokin' hot box, you may find yourself wanting to upgrade.
I don't miss my 6x7 any more.
