That was my thinking precisely. My cost for the book is about $175 and I had a discount code for 40% off which brought it to around $120.00 including shipping. I had to order a second book after making some minor adjustments to 6 or 7 images after the test print. So my total cost came to about $240.00. The experience of making a portfolio book like this is far more beneficial (from an education/experience standpoint alone) to my photography than any piece of camera gear or software I could have bought for that amount. Incidentally, my costs included the purchase of the DOves Regular font specifically for this project. The book is set entirely in this typeface.
