That was my thinking precisely. My cost for the book is about $175 and
I had a discount code for 40% off which brought it to around $120.00
including shipping. I had to order a second book after making some
minor adjustments to 6 or 7 images after the test print. So my total
cost came to about $240.00. The experience of making a portfolio book
like this is far more beneficial (from an education/experience
standpoint alone) to my photography than any piece of camera gear or
software I could have bought for that amount.

Incidentally, my costs included the purchase of the DOves Regular font
specifically for this project. The book is set entirely in this
