It's like a Toshiba laptop. Well, some models at least. There's no dedicated WiFi switch, there's a, not particularly well marked, keyboard combination to turn WiFi on and off. The documentation is sorely lacking in explaining this. The urge to throw said laptop out a window was nearly overwhelming.

More than that, it disables the AF assist lamp and the shutter noise.
These things are all turned on/off by a single long press on one button
the back. Easy.
Just to be clear:

You have a camera, you want the shutter sound louder or softer, or even
different? Go into the menus and find the shutter sound pref, and select
to taste.

You want the AF assist lamp permanently on or off? Go into the menus and
find the AF assist lamp pref, select accordingly.

You want the flash enable or disabled? It's a manual pop-up flash. You
don't want flash even if you pop it up? Go into the menus, find the
pref, select your choice. If using fully auto then it may be on the X30
the flash can pop up by itself - it can't on my X20, it has to be
manually popped up.

BUT - These cameras benefit from an extra facility - a 'silent mode'.
Really it should be called 'stealth mode'. If you find yourself in a
situation where you want to be as quiet and unnoticed as possible while
shooting, then a simple press-and-hold of one button ('DISP/
BACK')enables this mode which disables the pop-up flash, turns off any
shutter noise, and disables the AF assist lamp. To re-enable the camera
as it was before, simply press and hold this button again. This means if
you are shooting at a party with noise and fun, using flash etc, but
then decide some candid shots would be nice without flash and
distracting low-light AF assist lamp etc, one button means you can,
instead of searching menus for these things individually. That's great design.
