Perhaps. However it could be that it's just the latest product so that's the one they mentioned. On the other hand if most of us own a K3 or K5, the K-S2 would be an attractive backup, unless we already own a K5/K7/K20D as backup. The K-S2 looks like a really nice camera, I know I'd probably want one if I didn't already have a K-5II /and/ a K20D as a backup.

I also think the K-S2 would probably sell a bit better if it looked slightly smaller than the size of Nikon D3300 camera, objectively it apparently is smaller but it's blocky design gives it the appearance of being bigger, and it wasn't a follow on to the K-S1, which was frankly bizarre from a traditional photographer's viewpoint, and was mostly pandering to hipsters of all ages.

I think it would sell better if it were more obviously the successor to the K-50, perhaps if they had named it the K-50II and had dropped the colorful LEDs altogether.
