sometimes i like having a grid. sometimes i think that a split image is annoying. do interchangeable screens can count as a part of a viewfinder? i guess, the ideal solution is what MF cameras (usually) have: by swapping screens/prisms one can get as much or as little info as is appropriate at the moment. yes, sometimes even meter lights are obtrusive and annoying too.
