Thank you, Dan, Steve, and John for looking and responding!
John, I don't think it is poisonous. Most spiders aren't poisonous.
The website referenced by Steve actually describes only 2 that are really
poisonous (and very questionable 2 more):

I like spiders, and typically let them go when I find them. [*]
I found this one inside one of the boxes in a big pile that had been
sitting in my garage, while I was flattening them for recycling.
After taking a few photos very quickly, I let this one out into the grass.
What attracted my eye in this one is the pearl-like abdomen and the
pattern on it.

[*] I posted this back in 2008: I had a spider that lived in the space
between the kitchen sink and the window for several months, until I had to
move out from that apartment. He was catching fruit flies.
At some point I spent some 3 hours photographing it "in action":

(sorry, I was stupid enough to make that gallery in Flash, and never got
to redo it)

So is it poisonous or not?
I generally take a live & let live attitude towards creepy, crawly &
slithery critters, but I don't like poisonous spiders & snakes! I'll
tolerate 'em as long as they don't come around me.

Not for people with arachnophobia!
By a conincidence, Larry and I were visited on the sam eday by related
species.
Actually, that day, while I was shooting this guy in the middle of the day, I
was rather busy.
It was only later, in the evening, while trying to identify the type, that I
realized it was "she". Because she was gravid. (I think..)
I am not a specialist, but this helpful website helped me to identify
this Metaltella simoni (Hacklemesh Weaver)

Unfortunately, these photos were far from perfect. I was in a rush, and was
shooting with the camera handheld, in a very unstable position.
So, I just did the best I could in that situation.
Actually, I'd appreciate if you can tell me which of these photo(s) you like
the most (if any).
