You really shouldn't count out the 12-24. Its a well regarded design that dxomark ranks as one of the best performing zooms on pentax. Some have claimed that it is actually sharper than the 15ltd, and across the frame that might be true. My copy was incredibly sharp for a zoom. Plus you get the nice range of 18-35 equivalent, which is actually a really great range and more useful IMO than 10-20. i know its way out of your range, but used copies can be found for 600+ if you look around. Its not exactly fast, but the T stop seems closer to F4 than a lot of my zooms, especially the DA 17-70. At 12mm, you can take some impressively long exposures handheld with SR. Also, don't count out the Samyang 14mm. Its fast and while not a perfect lens, is actually pretty sharp. I think the DA 14mm edges it out though from the tests I've seen. The DA has some gnarly field curvature though. Godrey is right. Wide angle and cheap do not go in the same sentence. Especially when you add the word quality. If you are hell bent on primes only, I'd definitely look at the 15ltd and 21ltd. You'll get the most use out of the 21ltd most likely depending on what you are shooting.
