Thank you, two Pauls for your responses. [Can it be called a bi-Paular response? (Just playing with words, nothing is implied.)]

I've used such approach for some Ilford and Premier Arts papers before, and it worked to my satisfaction (but my requirements can be lower here). Thanks for the tip, I am looking at that company closer... Unfortunately, their "sample kit" of papers is very inconvenient: they mark the paper on the front side. So, if you want to have it useful, you have to cut that paper. I don't have a good cutting setup at home, so, I don't like having any paper cut, only when there is a photo that is worth extra work. I've tried this metallic paper: http://www.atlex.com/catalogsearch/result/?q=CP8511 CP8511 Chrome Pearlescent Metallic Inkjet Paper 8.5x11 - 50 sheets $39.99 It is not perfect for my taste, but reasonable for some applications. The main shortcoming (in my opinion) is that there is not enough "metallicity" or "metallic brightness" in the printed image.
