Hi all, I have been gathering together onto a single drive all of the various family (digital) photos we have taken over the years... And now they are all organized by year, and imported into LR 4. That was the easy part... Now I'd like to be able to go through them, select favorites, rate them, make some collections, etc. Eventually, the goal is prints, probably in blurb book format.
It feels like a big job. My workspace is not in the house. I'd like to be able to export a catalog of files onto my laptop, and while I sit on the sofa in the evenings, go through the rating, collection-izing, etc. Then, sync this organization back with the main catalog. I wouldn't really do any image editing, just organizing. I think I can do this... Maybe one of resident LR gurus can confirm...? An initial search for info didn't turn up a quick answer, but I'm probably not searching the right thing... If anyone knows of a link to more info, that would be helpful...
