Rating 160 speed portrait film started long ago with Kodak Vericolor (VPS) a
film with so little underexposure latitude that the shadows to the lower
mid-tones would go muddy. So people started rating it at 125, or 100, or
even 80 to get rid of the muddies. Yes it did increase contrast SLIGHTLY,
but it was still much less contrasty then the non-portrait film. Fuji NPS
was similar. Where you are shooting the more contrasty NPC, you may or may
not need to adjust the ISO. I would shoot a test roll bracketing normal, +
1/2 stop, + 1 stop ( or 1/3, 2/3, 1 stop if your camera allows) look for
both detail in shadow and detail in dark and light clothing, and choose the
highest ISO that you are happy with.
