Wow, thanks a lot, guys! I started to write down all your tips, but I soon gave up and printed them out. I'm thinking of buying a binder to hold all the tips and info I've printed out from the list.
I'll try several of these ideas. Oddly enough, the images look less grainy on paper than they do onscreen. The films were sent to Qualex, the Kodak lab, but they "lab out" their PhotoCD scans, in Hamilton, Ontario, and in Richmond, BC (the PictureCDs are done in-house). Thanks again for the help.
